RMS is committed to improvement of the tourism standards and facilities on Mt. Rwenzori and enhancing the quality of people’s livelihood and fostering development of the community through conservation of the existing mountain physical and biological resources for sustainable tourism business
he rates include guides and porters’ wages and food, park entrance fees, franchise fees, accommodation in the mountain huts, Government tax-VAT, Client’s food, chef, gas cooker, and charcoal fuel. It excludes any other service not specified above.
As per the RMS permit, any one client is permitted a maximum of 12.5Kgs and a porter adds 12.5Kgs of his personal gear to reach 25Kgs
Rwenzori Mountaineering Services (RMS) offers mountaineering services on to Rwenzori Mountains and guiding, transfer services to the rest of Uganda’s National parks and Wildlife reserves and also to any other attractions outside protected areas. RMS has well trained guides, cooks and staff to handle and lead you to achieving your desired Tourism satisfaction.
Rwenzori Mountaineering Services is an NGO, Company limited by guarantee without share capital and was founded in July 1987 as a legal entity registered with the NGO Board under the ministry of Internal Affairs with a membership of over 1,600 members and operates a 30 years concession to conduct hiking / mountaineering safaris. It prides in the quality service it have provided over time through the beautifull central circuit
Rwenzori mountain National Park (RMNP) was gazetted a National Park on July 1st 1991 and was inscribed on to a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1994. The Rwenzori ranges stretch 100Km long and 50Kms wide; the ranges rise up to about 5109M ASL – Margherita peak. RMNP has an area of about 996Kms with eco system ranging from dense rain forest, bamboo, heather, alpine ecosystems and the snow/glacier fields.
